Season's Greetings,

One of the greatest things about the holiday season is the joy of giving - seeing that wide grin when you've given a loved one exactly what they wanted. This year I encourage you to put that grin on the faces of thousands of shelter volunteers across America by giving to the dogs in their care.

Monetary donations are always valuable to rescues and shelters, but that's not the only way you can help. You can also give your time and share your positive energy with these animals who may be very lonely. Offer to take the dog on a walk. Provide old blankets or towels to warm up those cold kennel floors. Or even sing Christmas carols to the dogs and staff. Don't go into the shelter feeling sorry. Instead, share calm-assertive and loving energy. Give the dogs a day to remember, and help keep the staff motivated and appreciated for all the hard work they do for the animals we love.
