Greetings,

June marks the beginning of summer, one of my favorite times of year! As a young boy in Mexico, it meant vacation time. After we moved to the city, we took trips back to the ranch. The whole family got together, which meant 20 to 30 people in one little house! It was so much fun enjoying good food and good company. Since there were no fans in the house, we spent a lot of time in the river to escape the heat.

Today I still seek out water when it's hot outside. Even a pile of mud will do for my pack! They love getting dirty and enjoy the relief it provides from the heat. Sometimes I take the dogs to the beach, or I pile the whole pack into the RV and find a lake with my boys and my wife.

To me, summer is about taking time with your entire pack - your kids, your spouse, your dogs, your friends, your parents, everyone! - to enjoy the sun, the shade, the walk, and the water. Take this opportunity to try out a new game or activity. Get the whole family involved! Remember to keep your dogs hydrated and safe from the heat.
