Would you please recommend one or a few good pet health care insurance companies? I don't know who to trust. And I want to be clear; I'm not interested in life insurance for my dogs, only health care insurance.
Thank you so much for sharing.

Dear Lollie,
Pet health insurance is becoming much more common in recent years. Most of the pet insurance companies are underwritten by human companies and are structured in a similar way. Some cover preventative care and others are just major medical. Since they are always changing, I have a hard time recommending a specific company. The best way to pick a company is to ask for a benefit schedule and see which plan meets your needs the best. A good web site to compare what companies have to offer is PetInsuranceReview.com.

We just found out about
We just found out about trupanion and got it for our dog, i wish i knew about this sooner. I mean we have great term life insurance for ourselves and it only make sense to cover our pets if it's possible to help with vet costs.
My Boston
I have Trupanion and I LOVE it! No limits per event or category. I used petinsurance review to do my research and it was very helpful. For me what was important was having the fewest restrictions as possible. I thought companies that had dollar limits set per event were counter productive to what I was trying to protect against. Currently I have $20,000 in coverage but I just heard it is being changed to a no limit benefit (WOW). I also liked Embrace and Pet Plan but the stable premiums and no exclusions for congenital and hereditary diseases were important. I was also price sensitive on premiums. By the way, I have not made a claim yet however the gal I spoke with on the phone was wonderful getting me set up. Hopefully I never use it!!!!
