Foundation Announces Hispanic Spay/Neuter Campaign Kickoff!

PSA Premieres July 9 on the National Geographic Channel
It's here at last! Cesar Millan and his charitable organization will kick off a public service campaign this week, aimed at raising awareness in the Spanish-speaking community of the importance of spaying and neutering pets and its direct impact on canine overpopulation.
This campaign is the long-awaited result of the partnership between the Millan Foundation and Lopez Negrete Communications, Inc. It will feature television, radio, and print ads, and a community relations effort by Cesar himself which will seek to bring his spay and neuter message to Spanish-speaking dog owners.
"Every week millions of dog owners honor me by allowing me in their homes to teach through the Dog Whisperer television show," says Cesar Millan. "I would love to use this platform to inform people about pet overpopulation and how it's killing millions of animals yearly in America. One of the kindest acts people can perform to save the lives of animals is to spay or neuter their pet, which prevents homeless animals from ever being born in the first place."
The campaign is focused on raising awareness of the consequences of pet overpopulation, which includes leaving over 4.5 million dogs and cats to die in local animal shelters each year due to a lack of space.
"We are dog lovers and have admired the work that Cesar has accomplished throughout the years," said Alex López Negrete, president, CEO/CCO of Lopez Negrete Communications which conceptualized the campaign. "Pet overpopulation is an important issue and one not commonly addressed in the Hispanic community, so we knew this was a breakthrough project we had to engage immediately."
Both the Foundation and Lopez Negrete understand that U.S. Hispanics love and treat their pets as family members, but are largely unaware of the issue of pet overpopulation and the resources available to provide spaying and neutering services, the partners said in a recent press release.
The project, a labor of love for both Cesar Millan and Lopez Negrete Communications, Inc., will kick off this week with a Public Service Announcement on the National Geographic Channel on Friday, July 9 during the Dog Whisperer television show. Don't miss it!
