The Millan Foundation DEAR Fund recently donated $10,000 to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) in support of their efforts in rescuing animals affected by the recent Japan earthquake and tsunami.

IFAW has been rescuing and protecting animals in dangerous and natural disaster situations since the 1970s. With a mission to “save animals in crisis around the world,” IFAW has responded to many regions affected by natural disasters, including the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and South Africa during a recent flood season, and is now addressing the tragic situation in Japan.

IFAW is planning to deploy several search and rescue teams to the hardest hit regions of Japan in the coming weeks and will also help fund several other organization’s efforts in the area.
