spay and neuter programs are the key to success in solving the pet overpopulation problem. It is crucial that every dog be spayed or neutered in order to help reduce the millions of animals that end up in shelters each year.
Many organizations have assisted in the efforts to sterilize the global pet population and some have now gone to the ultimate step of offering low-cost and free spay and neuter programs for communities around the world.
This past September, Cesar participated in the launch of actress Katherine Heigl’s Compassion Revolution, which has pledged $1 million to assist various animal welfare programs including low-cost and free spay/neuter programs to communities around the Greater Los Angeles area.
In the initial stages of the program, the Compassion Revolution has organized several free spay/neuter events in the San Bernardino area. The events have proven successful with more than 250 surgeries completed to date. And the Compassion Revolution will continue its community outreach with more events planned in the Lancaster and Bakersfield areas in the coming months.
“We are two packs working towards a common goal,” Cesar said of the initiative. “And we can make a difference!”
