Photo of the Month: June
Bachera is a dog of many chances. This Dogo Argentino/Bullterrier mix was first found wandering the tramlines in The Hague, Netherlands. She was plucked from the streets and put in a nearby shelter, where after a year, she was finally adopted. Unfortunately, that family returned Bachera after a short time owning her, and it was another year before Janine van Emden and her family finally gave her a forever home. “We are big fans of Cesar, especially the fact that you need to treat a dog like a dog,” said Janine. We sometimes forget because she is such a cuddle-bug. But both our dogs do better if we treat them like dogs and not as humans.”

“I took this picture while cleaning. She and our other dog Keyser ( an eight-year-old Dogo Argentino male) always are in my way when cleaning,” said Janine. “So when I try to mop the floor, I usually send them upstairs. She, however, sat on the stairs—probably to check my cleaning skills!”
