Bark Talk

Sound & Fury

In a London contest this past June, a German shepherd named Daz took the prize for loudest bark ever recorded, howling in at a whopping 108 decibels; and 52 dogs shattered the previous group-bark record of 111 decibels, at an earsplitting 115.

Jake

Jake's life started out rough. This resilient pup suffered from abuse -- his snout was tied shut with wire, giving him the scar he bears today -- and he ended up at the OC Shelter.

Beauty

Before German Shepherd Beauty arrived at the Dog Psychology Center, her owner was so afraid of her human and dog aggression that she kept the dog isolated in one room of her home for nearly two years. Her owner, a wonderful lady with a big heart, had rescued her from an abusive situation.

Shadow

A Walk through the Valley with Shadow

Many months ago, we had the pleasure of introducing you to a very special and somewhat self-involved Schipperke mix named Sheeba. These days, despite being the second of CMI eCommerce Manager Jon's current pack, Sheeba has taken the lead as the Alpha dog (relinquishing ultimate command of the pack to Jon, himself.) But it wasn't always thus!

Brooke Cowley

Cesar,
I have four dogs; a Leonberger, a German Shepherd, a Japanese Chin and a Miniature Pinscher (sorta from the sublime to the ridiculous!). I have bought Seasons Two and Three on DVD and have found that Cesar's techniques work brilliantly on all four dogs (they range in age from 12 weeks to 4 years) despite their size, temperaments, and age differences.

Kathie Enser

Quincy, a German Shepherd, had been tied outside on the banks of the Mississippi River 24/7. She had been beaten, was positive for heartworm, and her ears bitten raw by flies.

Dear Cesar,

Thank you so very much for sharing your talent and knowledge with us!! I have two very aggressive (red zone) dogs (German shepherd and Golden Retriever) that are determined to kill each other.

Dear Cesar and Team,

We are faithful followers of your program. We have a very large German shepherd named Elvis who belonged to my sister-in-law. He was shot in the head when he was very young (we don't know who did it), and lost an eye, then tried to make it home, and was hit by a car. He was thought dead when he was taken to the vet.

Annual Shots

My husband and I just happened to tune in yesterday to the Dog Whisperer show, and we were captivated. We instantly put the Walk techniques into practice and are already seeing results.

Cleaning Your Dog's Teeth

Written by Dr. Sherry Weaver

I have a three-year-old rescued long-haired German shepherd named Elsie. At her annual check up six months ago, the vet recommended teeth cleaning for her. I opted for a non-anesthesia cleaning which my vet opposed. I want to do what's best for my dog. In your opinion, is putting my dog under anesthesia really necessary to get the teeth clean?
