Army Veteran Donates $150,000 To Local Animal Shelter

Army veteran Bob Nowakowski has been donating his time and money to the Niagara County chapter of the SPCA for over 30 years, according to 7 Eyewitness News WKBW. To say he is a dog lover is an understatement.

Since 2017, Nowakowski has donated a total of $150,000 to the organization to show his appreciation for what they do.

“Today we are so grateful to announce that Army veteran Bob Nowakowski presented Niagara SPCA with a check for an additional $50,000 to help fund our new surgical suite!” The shelter wrote in a facebook post. “Bob has donated a total of $100,000 over the course of a few months as part of his pledge to match any funds raised towards the suite and thanks to the support of our amazing community, we hit his goal for us! We can never thank Bob enough for all he’s done and continues to do. In the humble words of Bob, ‘I’m just glad I can help.’ ❤️”

– According to Fox News, Nowakowski donated $50,000 in 2017 to fund the shelter’s heating and ventilation system.

– He donated another $50,000 on Veteran’s Day in 2019.

– He then donated another $50,000 check to fulfill his pledge of matching whatever amount the shelter could raise to build their new surgical center.

Nowakowski had adopted a dog named Chip in 2004 from the NC SPCA. The shelter now has a plaque commemorating his now deceased dog hanging on their wall.
