There is a lot to be said about the obedience of dogs. There is nothing that our dogs won’t do to make us happy. And we love them for that. But our dogs have been especially helpful during the current pandemic that we’re experiencing. They have been wonderful sources of companionship, especially for those of us who have had to quarantine alone. But there is one adorable golden retriever who has gone above and beyond for ger owner during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Ellie is the very, very good girl who has been picking up her owner’s curbside meals throughout the pandemic. And the best part is that her routine was filmed after her owner took her to a Chick-fil-A in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. According to WRAL, the video featured a dolled up Ellie walking across the parking lot in order to greet the employee that was waiting with her owner’s order. The adorable video showed Ellie dressed up and wearing an American flag bandana as she scurried over to grab the bag. Ellie showed great poise as she grabbed the bag’s handles and returned to a waiting Nick – her owner.
In the background you can hear the employees exclaiming, “That’s so cute!” A sentiment that we can all agree with.
And perhaps the most impressive part is that Ellie didn’t sneak any food! Most people would assume that any other pup might want to take a sneaky morsel as payment for having picked up the curbside order, but not Ellie. She’s a good girl!
As one person commented, “My dogs would happily pick up the order… then eat it before returning to the car.”
Most of us would probably expect similar behavior from our dogs, if not ourselves! I always sneak a fry or two when someone asks me to hold the bag after we’ve gone through a drive-through.
But Nick insists that Ellie is a very good dog and she never sneaks food. As he shared, she’s quite good at picking up his curbside orders – calling it her favorite hobby. We can only hope that Ellie gets a treat in return.
After seeing the viral video, the Chick-fil-A at Carraway Village wrote, “Using our mobile app for curbside delivery has never been more fun or easy.”
