Dog Refuses To Leave The Spot Where His Owner Died For Over A Year

Although this story might be a couple of years old, it still breaks my heart and proves the loyalty of man’s best friend.

A devoted dog refused to leave the scene of where his owner died in a car crash for over 18 months.

Locals have tried everything they could to get the dog away from the scene, but he always returns to the same spot.

According to Nafpaktia News, the dog’s owner was killed by a cement truck on November 8, 2017, in a tiny Greek town. The only time the dog ever moves is to find shade in the hot sun.

People have tried to adopt the dog but he won’t stay put, so they have built him his own shelter. Locals even bring him food and water to survive.

This dog’s story of loyalty has been likened to Hachiko, a devoted Japanese Akita that would visit the Tokyo Shibuya Station for years waiting for his dead owner to return.

Locals were concerned about the dog’s living conditions being that he lives on the side of the road with cars speeding by.

Some speculated that maybe if they cleaned up the crash site more, maybe the dog wouldn’t smell or associate the area with his deceased owner.

The good news is that the dog has since been adopted into a wonderful home!
