Dog Who Refuses To Smile For Christmas Photos Goes Viral On Twitter

As any doting pet owner would, Lauren Carter takes her dogs to an annual holiday photo shoot for the holidays.

And it’s a yearly occurrence that one of her dogs, Opie, wears the same happy expression in every holiday picture – whether the dogs are dressed up as Santas, reindeers, and dressed in other cute holiday outfits.

However, her other dog, Mika, doesn’t look happy. Instead, she looks more miserable. She doesn’t share Opie’s holiday spirit – looking downright pained in her adorable costumes.

“Took my dogs to take their yearly Christmas photos,” Carter posted on Twitter. “It’s really hard when you have one super photogenic dog and one dog having an existential crisis,” she joked.

The post quickly went viral after many people contemplated what the pensive canine must be thinking.

“Who’s a good boy?” one person guessed. “What does it even mean to be “good,” another jokingly countered.

Turns out, Mika just always looks a bit nervous as Carter states.

“I’m telling ya’ll, she has a very classic “oh god…. did I leave the stove on?” type of face 24/7,” she wrote.

“How I look on the outside VS. How I feel on the inside,” one person joked, commiserating with the dog’s expression.

“They ask you how you are & you say that you’re fine. & you’re not really fine but you just can’t get into it bc they would never understand…” another responded.

Regardless, Opie and Mika’s holiday pictures are adorable, so it’s no wonder that they’ve become viral sensations. If you want to follow Opie and Mika, you can keep up with their adorable antics here.
