Family Puts Up A Sign For Neighbors That Are Concerned About Their Dog On The Roof

Dogs aren’t really known for hanging out strange places. That is more a cat’s game. Cats are the ones that end up gracing the internet because of the odd places they choose to chill in. Shelving units, hand railings, tops of cars, inside boxes that are too small, plant pots – all these areas have not been off-limits to cats looking to take a nap.

Chilling in weird locations is kind of a cat’s thing. But our dogs? We’d expect more normality from them. Dogs are known for more silly antics like chasing their tails or rolling around on the grass. But one Reddit user surprised the internet after sharing their dog’s favorite hangout spot: the roof of their home. How very feline of the golden retriever named Huckleberry.

REDDIT

In a post to Reddit, they shared that Huckleberry has a fondness for climbing up onto the roof and hanging out up there for hours. His owners don’t have a problem with it. It’s certainly not a sight that you see every day. A cat on the roof? That’s a normal Monday. A dog on a roof? That will definitely get a lot of attention. And also a lot of concern from passersby. Because of Huckleberry’s fondness for scoping the neighborhood from his unique vantage point, his owners have come up with a solution to quell the worry. In order to assure anyone walking by that their pup was not in distress, the family made a sign that they were then able to display in the window.

REDDIT

The sign stated, “Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door… we know he’s up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world!”

And once the pictures of Huckleberry went up on Reddit, Distractify reported that the posted pictures ended up receiving a viral reception. People all across the internet were charmed by Huckleberry’s adorable rooftop antics.
