All is well that ends well as authorities in the eastern part of Alabama were relieved to find a missing four-year-old girl after two days. The child was found in a wooded area, and was in relatively good condition, despite being gone for so long. And of course, she was not alone as she had the family dog faithfully by her side.
The little girl, who was identified as Vadie Sides, was first noticed to be missing when she was last seen wandering out of her babysitter’s sight in the backyard with the hound dog. Police were called, and Lee county sheriff Jay Jones revealed that she was found after two days of searches.
Vadie was found in good condition, and she bounced back despite her ordeal.
Sheriff Jones reported, “We are beyond happy.”
There were multiple agencies out looking through the remote woodland area, as well as tons of volunteers coming out to help. The wilderness even had a creek running through it, so the little girl got very lucky nothing bad befell her.
Speaking to the news outlet, WRBL-TV, one of the search party members revealed that they’d found the girl after hearing a dog bark. Upon investigation, they noticed the girl after she “popped her head up.”
The person further revealed that when rescued, Vadie was able to drink Gatorade, as well as talk, “like it was no big deal.” As the news reported, the dog initially ran away from authorities when they approached, but later, it managed to find its way back home.
