‘Leader Of The Pack’ Episode 4: Miles To Go

A stray all his life in southern Italy, mixed breed Miles was being taken care of by an American family, but they are returning home and can’t take Miles along, so Jane and Becca, two of his temporary caretakers, have asked Cesar to help find him a forever home.

Cesar determines that this old dog has a lot of wisdom. Miles knows what he wants, but he also has some issues. As a stray, he has developed food aggression in order to survive. Cesar will have to change Miles’s approach to food if he going to live in a home environment, but first on the agenda is a bath and grooming, as Miles’s life on the streets has left him dirty and foul smelling.

Once he’s cleaned up, Cesar tests his food aggression, almost being bitten. It’s time to test Miles in the real world. In town, Miles is immediately drawn to food and trash but Cesar corrects the behavior to let Miles know that he no longer needs to search for food. A family will provide food and shelter for the rest of his life.

But which of the three candidate families will be the right match? The first to meet Miles are Jan and Marco, a young couple that has never had a dog. Jan has had some experience with dogs but Marco is more of a cat person. The test before them is to catch a wandering Miles in an open field and put a leash on him before putting him in a crate.

Next up are Anna and Lorenzo, a couple living in Milan. Anna is originally from Chicago and has had two dogs back home that have recently passed away. Anna and Lorenzo face the same challenge as the first candidates but they can´t seem to agree on an approach.

The third candidates, Paul, Liz, Alex, and Murron, are a family that already has an old dog that used to stray like Miles; Eddie. Their strategy is to use their dog to gain Miles’s trust, but will it work? And will any of these candidates rise to the occasion of being Leader of the Pack, and help old, street-wise Miles reform his ways?
