Man Carries His Dog Up Escalator After It Gets Scared

In life, we all have experiences that can be a little terrifying for us. Personally, public speaking has always been something that I’ve struggled with. However, it’s not just us who have to deal with uncomfortable situations or experiences – our pets do too. For example, things that create strange sensations, such as elevators or escalators can be a particularly confusing experience for dogs. And one video captured a dog who was scared to ride an elevator.

Of course, we can’t blame the poor pup, elevators can be scary even for some humans. Film in Fortaleza, Brazil back in 2017, this video featured a precious golden retriever named Antonio, who was doing his best to overcome his fear of going on the escalator. It wasn’t easy for him, and he needed to be held. In fact, his owner actually ended up lifting up the large dog and carrying him like a baby in order to get him to be able to ride the scary contraption.

Apparently, the video was a result of Antonio’s owner wanting to have lunch at the mall with his dog. As it turned out, this wasn’t the first time that the owner had to lift Antonio into his arms in order to ride on the escalator. And something tells us that since then, it probably hasn’t been the last. While we like to think that our pets are adaptable and can get used to the way the human world works, the truth is they’re still dogs. And every so often, we need to give them a little extra encouragement in order to get used to things like escalators.

Watch Antonio get picked up and carried in the video below:
