Dogs aren’t afraid of anything – except for maybe fireworks and vacuums. While fireworks are usually a rare occurrence in their lives outside of certain holidays like New Year’s Eve or Fourth of July, vacuums are a different story. Most of us will typically vacuum our homes at least once a week. This means that our poor dogs have to contend with their mechanical nemesis.
For most dog owners, we’ll try to accommodate our dogs so they don’t get too frightened by the noise. Sometimes we’ll put them outside or in a different room in order for them to not have to confront the vacuum. A few of us might have even tried switching over to a quieter version, like a Roomba.
But sometimes even a silent Roomba can create an issue for our pups. Emma Rendleman filmed what happened when introducing her English Bulldog puppy to a Roomba. The little pooch was not used to a vacuum at all, so this was his first-ever interaction. As Rendleman shared, prior to the video she and her husband had brought home the two-month-old puppy. They named him Oslo, and they’d been enjoying his brazen and playful personality for a few weeks before the incident in the video.
While the little puppy had a courageous sense of adventure, the one thing in the household that Oslo could not bring himself to make peace with, was the Roomba. But after a couple of weeks, he finally got over his hesitation. The results made for a pretty funny clip.
Emma said, “What started as a bark fest, turned into a full-on rodeo! This is his very first time riding the Roomba, and boy, did it make us laugh!”
