Being a dog owner comes with many ups and rarely any downs. The only downs that we can think of is the inevitable one of losing your pet to old age. We don’t want to ever think about it, but it’s something that will eventually happen. And no matter how much we try to make peace with that eventuality, it’s so hard when the day actually comes.
Losing a pet is such a difficult time. Even though they may just be a dog, the pain and grief is just as real as with any human. They’re our family. And there is no replacing them. Each pet that we have is a special and unique individual that we will cherish in our memories long after their gone. And no matter no matter how many times we face the pain of losing a beloved pet, it never gets any easier. That is why having supportive people who understand is always a gift. And one family who were mourning the death of their 10-year-old pup got a very sentimental and special surprise in their mail.
The family’s vet sent them something in the mail which was quite touching. It was a note of condolence combined with a paw print from their dog! The note, which was a poem that accompanied the touching gift, read, “The tide recedes, but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops, yet echoes on in sweet soulful refrains. For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.”
The post was then uploaded to Reddit, with the Redditor saying that that it was a “shock” to receive at first, but they appreciated the gesture for its heartfelt message. What do you think of this card? Have you received something similar from your vet following a pet’s death? Let us know!
