Fighting Dog Abandonment in Spain

In Spain, more than a hundred thousand dogs are abandoned each year, and around 50 are killed every day.
Seeing an opportunity to save lives, Cesar is leading the crusade against dog abandonment by matching these dogs with new adopted families in his first-ever Spanish-language TV show El Lider de la Manada(“The Leader of the Pack”), launching soon on the Cuatro channel in Spain.
These dogs have been left behind by their owners and many of them have complicated and tragic backstories. Cesar will use his skills honed over a lifetime of rescuing animals to rehabilitate and train the most difficult of these dogs and find them loving families where they can live in harmony.
On each episode of El Lider de la Manada (produced by Cuatro in collaboration with Vertice 360, Notro TV, PowWow, and Cesar’s Way), three potential adoptive families will be profiled and evaluated on their lifestyle, energy level, and compatibility with the dog. Based on this, Cesar will select the family best suited to bring the dog into their lives.

To help raise awareness of his campaign against dog abandonment, Cesar will be joined by many celebrities and special guests on the show. Singer Dani Martin, actors Fernando Torres, Mónica Cruz, Angy, Jorge Rebellón, and Alex Garcia, TV host Jesús Calleja, Thyssen baroness Beatriz de Orleans, and Elena Tablada will all lend their famous names to the cause and help Cesar to fight dog abandonment and promote adoption.
