Dog Leads Alaskan State Trooper To His Family’s Burning Home

Dogs really are man’s best friend, and they often prove their loyalty and bravery in keeping their owners safe time and time again.

In Alaska, there was one adopted German Shepherd Dog named Buddy, who proved himself a hero, after he sought the help of an Alaskan state trooper when his owner’s home caught fire. The fire was caused by a spark that caught some gasoline alight and it was a very dangerous situation. Sensing that his owner, Ben Heinrich, was in a very dangerous situation, Buddy ran off in search of help.

Meanwhile, neighbors alerted police to the fire, and Alaskan State Trooper, Shanigan, was the one who responded to the call. However, his GPS stopped working on the way. As he was within 93 miles of the home, in a region full of backroads, he was trying to drive as slowly as possible in order to properly follow the directions to the burning house as they were being directed to him by the station. While he was driving closer to the direction of the house, he noticed a dark figure emerge from the shadows onto the road.

It was Buddy.

Shanigan’s dashcam captured the heroic moment that the dog led him in the direction of the house, and you can watch that video below:
