More People Are Installing Dog Showers In Their Homes

A dog gets a shower in his own doggie shower.

Do you struggle to wash your dog after a walk outdoors when they get all muddy or dirty? Do you ever wonder if there is a better way than chasing them around the backyard with a hose or struggling to get them into the tub or shower?

Apparently, someone has taken the struggle into consideration with this latest home innovation: a dedicated space in your home just for washing your dog. According to the NEW YORK TIMES, a growing number of dog owners are adding dog showers to their homes as the popularity of pet-only shower spots continues to rise.

These pet-washing stations are much more comfortable and practical – and if needed, you can even stand inside most models. Pet owners are choosing to add dog showers to their existing laundry rooms or mudrooms in order to make the most of already existing plumbing.

Now you may be wondering about cost, but it is all dependent on the size, choice of tiling, and how “fancy” you want it to look. Dog showers will normally cost around $3,500 USD, but in some cases, the price could be significantly lower. The showers are built to be slightly raised in order to reduce the strain on your back.  These showers serve a multi-purpose and can also be used to clean outdoor gear or cleaning up after messy art projects.

The dog shower undoubtedly adds value to a home and makes the experience of cleaning your dog less of a hassle.
