Pooper Scooper Robot Will Automatically Pick Up Your Dog’s Poo

Having a dog is all fun and games until you realize you have to pick up after them. And if you’re squeamish, it can be a monumental task.

And that is why there is a company that has created a robot that does it all. It finds, detects, then automatically picks up your dog’s poop – saving you from having to do the dirty work.

The robot is named Beetl. It is equipped with computer vision and front cameras to help it detect the poo. Once it finds the feces, the robot moves into position directly over it, then uses a mechanical claw to do the scooping up.

It has a little sealed compartment where it stores the poo until it can be disposed of.

Besides the ability to successfully detect your dog’s poo, Beetl’s sensors also allow it to avoid any obstacles in its way, as well as stay within a set perimeter. All an owner needs to do is program their lawn boundaries, then watch as the robot roams around picking up poo.

The advanced AI can also be connected to a cloud network, which allows it to learn and develop new methods.

Unfortunately for now, Beetl is still in the testing stage, meaning that for now you will have to do the work yourself.

Of course, this is not the first time that technology has been used to clean up after us – a Dutch start-up company announced it was using drones in order to combat the 220 million pounds of dog feces that are not cleaned up on the streets in the Netherlands’ every year.
