Street Dog Comforts ‘Injured’ Performer That Was Just Faking It

Dogs are man’s best friend, whether they are your dog or not – that is exactly what one homeless dog proved after he walked into a live street performance just to check on the wellbeing of an actor involved. In a very sweet and kind twist, actor Numan Ertugrul Uzunsoy was in Turkey during a performance, when his character had to get on the ground.

The crowd that had gathered to watch, knew that it was fake and all part of a performance. They knew that Uzunsoy was fine and he wasn’t really injured. But the little stray spectator who was in the crowd didn’t know better. He was concerned that Uzunsoy had actually hurt himself, and so he approached the actor on the ground in order to verify that he was okay.

As the actor shared with The Dodo, his character was supposed to have fallen off a horse and was supposed to be in “great pain.” During the performance, his fellow actors stepped back and gave him his moment. But there was someone in the crowd that wasn’t about to just sit back and let the man be alone. The sweet little dog went over to the downed actor to make sure he was safe.

The actor was touched, recalling how he felt something warm on his face. This made him think that it was possibly one of his costars coming over – but then he felt a licking sensation and knew that something else was happening. Looking up, Uzunsoy saw that it was a stray dog expressing concern.

Uzunsoy said, “I was very happy when I felt the dog’s kisses. I was very touched. He was like an angel who wanted to help me. It was a very emotional moment for me. I was not expecting it.”

Regardless of the dog doing a little improv of his own, the audience were also touched by the dog’s gesture. The caring pup received cheers and applause from the audience for coming to the aid of a total stranger. The actor’s fellow cast members gently helped to escort the dog off the stage. The little pup stayed around for a little bit before going on his way. While it was a very brief moment, Uzunsoy was still grateful to the care shown by the dog and he hopes he can see him again as he’d love to help the dog find a forever home – something we all hope happens.
